Now I think this band was great!!!
They had an awesome Singer and a fine Guitarist too, a couple of changes in the rhythm section but they were also great players.
I do however think that they dont wholey fit the Hiar Metal/Glam tag but if G'n'R are in this section then who cares?
My fave album of theirs is without doubt "Three Sides" (...yours, mine and the truth) it isn't their most popular (which is Pornograffitti, an album i also like) but is one that see's them doing some more epic tunage and tipping the hat to bands like Queen whilst being a little more indulgent and a little more prog(ish)
They have another rather rocking album called- "Waiting For The Punchline" which is a much more raw, back to basics hard hitter that followed "Three sides", however that was their last album and they parted company.
Guitarist Nuno went on to form his own band(s) and Gary Cherone had a stint with Van Halen then moved on to Tribes of Judah.
I dont know to much about Extremes first album as i only heard it the once and it is hard to come by, but I can say that it wasn't all bad.
Anyone esle know or like any of their tunes, albums? or maybe you hate them?

Nuno Bettencourt's an awesome guitarist!
"Play With Me" was brillliant! ...and "Mutha (Don't Wanna Go To School Today)"... in fact, I think the only one I don't like is "More than Words"... _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

Man Lou! you luv the cheese!
What about the good stuff. Pornograffiti is a bible of "hair" guitar, I rate that alongside Van Halen 1 as some the best "lead guitar" records of all time. "3 Sides" is an awseome, if not overblown piece of art! Then "Waitng For The Punchline" is as stripped and bare as a tight band can get!
Super band, who had their sights set on being the next "Queen" and they almost did it! Nuff said! _________________ "A moment can change everything" |

Only thing is 'Play with me' was Dweezil Zappa on guitar - not nuno... ah well... Nuno is excellent though no arguements there!
