This is a thread that I started on the ARSE forums a fair while ago... since we haven't got many active members there, the discussion died pretty quickly - so I thought I'd try my luck over here!
It sounds a bit morbid but which song (or songs) would you like played at your funeral? Would you go for a tear-jerker? Or something to make people laugh?
*edit*
A blog that was written on Dark Dose inspired me to make the thread originally.

It's always surprising how many people say "I've thought about this before"... I don't really know what that says about us!
I'll have to give this a bit more thought. I know I don't really want any Death Metal played! _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

I think it would be these:
I would have it in a church - just as a final fuck you to religious people cos i am the opposite of them...
Bringing the coffin in
Anywayyou Want It - Journey
Hymn 1 - Highway to Hell - ACDC
Hymn 2 - Ill Be Ready (baywatch theme) Jimi Jameson
For the Funeral Procession
Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
As they bury the coffin - Wake Me Up Before You Go Go - Wham
I plan on a fucked up funeral |

I actually giggled when I read that! People in the office looked at me... _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

| I want november rain by guns n roses and then probably doctor beat by Gloria Estafan cos I know that would put a smile on the faces of the girls from work (I used to sing it to them and we had a little dance routine)and build me up buttercup... I think that song is great! |

Bringing the coffin in - Midnight Cowboy by Faith No More
Hymn 1 - Alone I break by Korn
Hymn 2 - The Burning Red by Machine Head
For the Funeral Procession - A Warm Place by Nine Inch Nails
As they bury the coffin - Timelessness by Fear Factory
All rather sombre songs but it is a funeral... then at the reception party afterwards i want Slayer, Metallica and Starpping Young Lad playing live n loud for all my friends!!! |

The Burning Red. That would be a fantastic funeral song.
Argh! I'm coming up with so many good ideas now! A good 'burying the coffin' song would doubtless be Twisted Sister's "I am, I'm me".
Then you get onto the random stuff. I'd probably have to have Mr. Fantastic by DJ Static. Thanks to my missus it's kind of become my theme song. Don't ask!
Another good one would be "Carnivalisma" by the Brazilian Supergroup "Tribalistas". The Brazilian girls at work have been getting me into them and that song rocks. _________________ www.nephwrack.com
