Queen hands down are one of the most individual bands EVER!
They sound like no one else and no one sounds like them (Except the lastest Darkness album). They always did things their way and were NEVER afraid, how many bands are this brave nowadays huh? The closest thing I can think of is the last Silverchair album when they changed their style completely. Queen did it all, great album statements, outlandish jams, killer rock singles and they did the whole cross over thing into pop and held their integrity. Oh yeh they rock muchly!

OK I really like loads of queen and I think I know all the lyrics to enev their most obscure B-Side... but they are definatly not the most individual - they are the most fashion conscious in that all their changes are chartable with the most popular music styles. Freddie was no fool - he knew releasing rock in the early 80s would probably destroy them asa band.. so things like Hot Space came out... As for silverchair - I think as they never made it they are grasping at straws...
Most individual band album to album - Mr Bungle without a doubt, or even faith no more from real thing - to angel dust to king for a day |

This probably belongs in another thread - but what the hell...
Could someone recommend some Mr Bungle stuff? I love FNM and I've been meaning to give Mr Bungle a try for some time... Also, any Mike Patton stuff would go down a treat *smiles sweetly* _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

Do Queen sound like anyone? When you hear Queen, do they not sound recognisable instantly no matter what style they're doing? _________________ "A moment can change everything" |

So do all the bands I like - none of my fave bands sond like others - Queen sound like Freddie and Brian.. distinctive voice and guitar. But song wise there has been many bands doing many distinctive styles..
Dont get me wrong I love queen - I just know that they are too hyped |

Yes, i agree, Queen are the most individual bands ever. I mean, when they done a trib band show after Freddie died, it took 13 singers to even come close to him, just him by himself was great.
