Another band who probably wouldn't fit into any other forum here at all. They're a curious mix of camp rock punk glam.... and all sorts of other bits and pieces. They're certainly a great live band, so read these various quotes:
| Quote: | | DRIPFED: "Like a strange war between The Rasmus and Erasure. But Good!" |
| Quote: | | UK MUSIC SEARCH: Sounding like a messy punch up between the Lostprophets, The Automatic and Duran Duran, My Passion are a London five piece creating wiry pop music with its roots in the eighties but its sights set firmly on the future. This is a band you'll be hearing plenty more about pretty soon; songs that contain all the infectious hooks, snappy guitar lines and ice cool synth stabs you could ever wish for. Duran Duran raised on emo and rave, singer Laurence Rene letting loose with an excitable yelp over slinky synth riffs and propulsive guitar noise. TOMORROW GIRLS is a harder edged but no less pop infused affair, My Passion making out like Franz Ferdinand on speed and locked in a room full of synthesisers and John Hughes films. |
| Quote: | | NME.COM: "A new sound sweeping the suburbs. My Passion create a party that will leave you shaking. Live it is like a beautifully brilliant horror show that is just damn infectious." |
| Quote: | | GLAM-OU-RAMA: "Rising dark stars My Passion are reminiscent of The Cure and Placebo - a band ready to carry on the glittery glam torch." |
Obviously these guys aren't going to appeal to everybody, but i think they're rather good.
They also have just been confirmed for a return to the Cartoon on December 7th.... more details to be confirmed (by yours truly).

They're not a band that I could listen to a lot, but I would like to see them live. I've heard good things... mostly from yourself
*edit*
Weren't they the band that went by another name for a while? _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

Yeah, they changed their name a while ago. I remember thinking that their old name was better but oddly i can't remember it now.
Any other questions i think the best person to ask is laura. She knows more than i do. That and she's a bigger fan. _________________

She knows about it, so if she wants to join she will.
I'm thinking i might have to get some swanky lights down for the next My Passion gig, and possibly book Gold Digger as a support band. We shall see. Swanky lights are expensive, so i try to only use them when i'm sure that i can afford it. I would've loved to get Swedish down for the Nicodemus gig, but it would've been too much money (for instance).
