If you do it on quality of albums then yeah, Ozzy-era Sabs produced some fantastic records, but also some less than consistent ones (Sabotage, Vol 4). Although Dio only made 3 LPs with Sabbath (including Dehumanizer) they were all absolute belters. In some ways you can't really compare the two, cos Sabbath couldn't have happened without Oz. And Dio's a very different singer. But his performances on numbers like Neon Knights, Die Young, Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, The Sign of the Southern Cross, incredible. He tackles the Ozzy-era stuff with aplomb too; I love his takes on NIB & Paranoid from Live Evil. _________________ www.nephwrack.com

I guess I just can't get used to the Dio stuff... I do like his other work though - especially "Holy Diver". _________________ No Sleep... 'til Bedtime!

I like "Hey Angel" not one of his famous songs but the riff rocks! _________________ "A moment can change everything" |

as a fan said in an interveiw once, and i agree,
If OZZY is not in the band, then it aint Black Sabbath, its just Tony Iommi, and a few of his mates. |
