30 Seconds To Mars30 Seconds To Mars (Actor Jared Leto's band), perhaps having an actor in the band is partly why they're underated? Their first album was compared to Marilyn Manson and Duran Duran by magazines and not given much praise, their live shows that followed were given bad reviews and the mags spent more time going on about the attendance of lead singer Jared Leto's movie star girlfriend of the time, something that you wont read about here in my fair and honest review.30 Seconds To Mars are an excellent band with great catchy songs that aren't just heavy for the sake of it but because they really have something to say. They are a band with many strings to their bow and I dont think we've seen it all yet! However, what we have seen is that they have various influences and styles ranging from Industrial (NIN), Spacious new sounding metal (Deftones), and a few emo-ish stylings occasionally coming to the fore amongst songs that sound like A Perfect Circle jamming with the Deftones and Mad At Gravity with guest vocals from the love child of Maynard James Keenan, Chino Moreno and James Labrie possesed by an angry rock/metal version of Freddy Mercury!!! (i'll say no more, just check em out) |
