Dream Theater

An awesomely cool band with loads of tunes, albums and a few different line up changes too!

Anyone heard em/like em/hate em?

Got any fave tracks/albums?
Loucifer

Friends have played me songs in the past, but I couldn't name any of them! I'm not sure why, but nothing really stood out for me enough to want to check out an album.

Which album or songs would you recommend to someone who's keen to be converted?

It depends on what your after as they change and do something a little different every time.
They are all quality albums but i think it's best to start with Images and Words (an early one) and train of thought (a fairly new one and quite metal!!) then if you like those, get em all!!!!
Loucifer

Ok thanks - I'll keep my eye out for those.

What are your favourite tracks?
GNR Slash

i like the songs by em that i got online to my computer
Wardyboy

They are simply one of the best bands ever! Get any album they all have something to offer, they can do it all!

Personal faves for me are Images and Words, Falling into Infinity, Scenes From A Memory, Train Of Thought and the latest one Octovarium.

Great vocals, though operatic and not everyones come of tea, you cannot deny this guys voice is the bollox!

Their drummer is powerful and amazing, the bass is clever, keyboards vary per album some good (Scenes From A Memory), some not so (Falling Into Infinity). Their guitarist is super and one of my all time faves! John Petrucci rules!

Loucifer, check them or buuuurn! I'll copy them for ya! Some of my guitar has been compared to them!

Loucifer

Not bad at all.... I've got 3 (i think) of their albums, and though they don't get much play they're still mighty fine.

My own gripes with this band are along the lines of "it's all just musical wank really", but there's no denying the fact that technically they're very good at what they do.
Cool hand Luke

I agree that there is an element of stupidity with regards to over doing the musical stuff with some of their output but they def have some cool songs otherwise I just wouldn't like em.
